In the last few weeks people have made / given all kinds of suggestions which may help to bring on labour, some of which are listed below:
Hot curry /food - Chilly flakes have been added in almost every dish I've made recently
Sex – umm certainly not top of your list when your 39 weeks pregnant!
Bumpy roads - trips in the work van have been a regular request!
Pineapple - new one to me but cant see that working tbh
Well today I discovered a new technique to bring on labour - attend a Speed Awareness course!
Yep, it may cost you 60 quid (but you don’t get 3 points), and you may have to spend 3 hours of your day listening to everything there is to know about the effects /dangers of speeding but in my case there was an added plus – the contractions kicked in.
That started this morning and its now 5pm, and they are coming faster & stronger which is why I’m sat writing this blog, Mr T says it will take my mind off the pain, ha ha that’s how much he bloody knows, see how much longer he keeps that up without me biting his head off!
Looks like we have a long night ahead, so I’m signing off to go read the instructions on my tens machine.
Next blog will be a good one! Wish me luck !!!

I have Boobs!
At 36 / 37 week’s they advise you to go out to purchase your nursing bra, which I have done this week.
A good part of being pregnant - my boobs are now a 36 DD.. first and only time in my life I have more than a handful!
Don’t get me wrong though, they certainly aren’t page 3 DD’s, and defiantly have more of a “mummy” look about them, not that glamorous without the clothing I’m afraid!
Apparently they get bigger still when babytays arrives, but I’m also guessing that they will never look the same as they did on my wedding night, 10 months ago!

Blessed with wide pelvis!
Week 37, and had my one, from last midwife appointment today (if on time). I arrived expecting the standard routine visit – bloody pressure, latest leaflets & chat, check wee sample, measure bump and listen to heart beat, plus the dreaded blood test I’ve been putting off for the last couple of visits – surprising that I still hate needles, considering the pain I’m about to experience!
Well today was a bit more interesting! I expected to be told that baby was fully engaged, as two weeks ago it was 4/5ths. Claire, my midwife felt the bump for babytays location, and after much feeling around was unsure whether the hard lump at the top of my bump was ass or head.. and she was unable to feel the head down in the pelvis.
She told me there were two situations – either babytays had decided to already become a pain in the ass (literally) and had turned to the breach position, which would result in a c- section, my very worse nightmare! Or I was lucky enough to have been blessed with a very wide pelvis and babytays was buried down deep, which is why the head couldn’t be found.
To find out I was sent to St Michaels for a scan to confirm the position. I spent the whole journey with my fingers crossed that it wasn’t breach, as like I said C section is some ladies dream, but for me would be worse nightmare, I cant think of anything worse than being effectively injured for 6 weeks – no driving etc etc. The only plus side would have been that the operation would have been booked in for 39 weeks, which means babytays would arrive on the 22nd June.
Well I had the scan, and luck was on my side, I was told babytays is deep in my wide pelvis and I’m just waiting for contractions.
When my midwife called later in the day to see how I got on, I asked if it ment I would delivery early, she replied “not early, but it will be a quick labour!” that reply was good enough for me and has eased my labour fears slightly more!!

34 weeks down, 6 to go!
Ok, I have been so bad at keeping you all updated with the progress of Babytays, but I have good reason!
With working full time, trying to finish all the DIY at home, as well as my urge for keeping my house completely spotless I have to say I have no energy levels and no brain power to write a blog on the evening…
The tiredness stage at the beginning of the pregnancy has returned, and when I do get a release of energy, it is all used up cleaning, repeatedly! I currently have an addiction to an apple fragranced disinfectant, which I just have to have my house smell of, I love it! Very odd I know..
Well anyway, I have hit the 34-week mark this week, or I am in my 35th week, as some information will say..
How am I feeling? Big.. really big
How do I look? Big… really big..
But seriously, yes very excited now but also a ikle scared of the whole labour process. This week will be my third session at anti natal and it has just brought everything out of hiding.
I have found them useful, and Mr T managed to attend last weeks to learn all about the “non” normal labour.. umm not good information to tell them in advance, I expect he will be running off to the Robin Hood pub next door in a panic!
At the moment I’m trying to stick with the attitude that it has to come out, so lets just go with it.. no point worrying too much as I have no choice now! Apparently, the more you relax (yea right) the faster and easier the baby comes out. I have said to Mr T if he repeats that to me when I’m in the height of pain it may not go down too well!
Generally, though, I’m trying to stay positive about labour because firstly and most importantly I get to meet BabyTays, and secondly I can start to fit into my clothes again.
I think this is the most stressful part for me. Although I was very lucky as I expanded on the tummy area from an early stage but the rest of me stayed the same, in fact, I was even wearing my own jeans up until a few weeks ago.
Until that is I woke up once morning after hitting 32 weeks and bang.. I was huge, even getting out the bed I needed to roll and from then on I have just grown and grown.. My arms are fat, my legs are huge (well they feel huge) I cant even pull my jeans over my ass, and my maternity clothes are even getting tight, in fact I have considered just going to work in my pj’s, so at least I will be comfortable. I have to say, I am looking forward to getting my body back again and actually feeling nice when I get dressed in the morning!
Oh well, the long haul of it is over and soon I will become a Mummy and I cant bloody wait!!
5 weeks and 5 days to go and counting!!!
Although the midwife said only 4% arrive on due date, my fingers are crossed my date comes early and not two weeks late!

If I was given a pound..
everytime I heard "Oh, you must be nearly due", "god arent you big" and "are you sure its not twins" and the worse one "blimey, it must be a big baby" - I would be having a luxury maternity leave counting the cash!
Just to let you all know -I have 11 weeks to go, yes I am big and have been for what seems like ages, although its slowing down now thank god! No, its not twins and finally I'm praying its not a big baby!
The last comment has had the worse effect on me as I keep having dreams (or should i say nightmares) that the baby arrives huge and in one dream it looked likes a 3 month old not new born... I blame Lisa for her dream that it was a 20lb baby..eekk..
11 weeks to go and counting.. I'm hoping the time now flys by!

BabyTays get a nursery!
& Mr & Mrs Taylor get wardrobes!
Now that is what I call a successfully Easter Bank Holiday weekend! Rewind one year and we would have both, most likely, be sat here nursing the hangover from hell after spending a Sunday knocking back the shots.
Easter 2009 and despite sickness hitting hard (note to self: pick up prescription tomorrow to re stock on tablets) we have had the most enjoyable bank holiday: painting, building wardrobes, cleaning (or nesting as some might call it) and shopping for nursery accessories!

Mr T had previously expressed that he would like to include garden wildlife, rather than your typical farm or zoo animals, and luck would have it Mama & Papa’s were having a spring sale… so our once clothes / junk room has been Hodge Podged right up and we love it!
We’ve painted the room Picket Fence (a warmish white), with oak fitted wardrobe and of course the Hodge Podge items with includes hedgehogs, birds, mice and foxes - a few of the items are pictured below.

Now we just need a cot.... oh and BabyTays to arrive!
